CATHERINE PILKINGTON

I started fundraising events about 10 years ago participating in various events to challenge myself physically and mentally. I have a degree in Forensic Science, but currently work in Accounts for a company in Liverpool. Some of my past events include Liverpool Triathlon, Skydiving, 2 Treks in the Brecon Beacons, Race for Life and the Manchester – Blackpool bike ride.

I lost my grandparents to cancer when I was young, denying me the opportunity to spend precious time with them. I have decided to join Mo and the Explore2Cure campaign to help raise funds and awareness of the devastation cancer leaves in it’s wake. We are all effected by cancer; it seems to come into everyone’s life at some point whether it be through family, friends or friends of friends. Cancer Research and Macmillan are two of the many charities who are striving to make a difference giving hope and support to those trying to come to terms with cancer.
