GAVIN FLETCHER

I first started running back in 2001 just to lose some weight and bagged my first ever 10 km run that year. Since then I have not looked back, completing numerous Marathons and Ultra Marathons, two of which were the Marathon des Sables and the Coast to Coast. I have also completed three Ironman triathlons all under 12 hours and have trekked up Kilimanjaro, Kala Patar and to Everest Base camp. I currently work for Rolls-Royce as a SAP Super User and I hold a Masters degree in Project Management.

Over the years I have seen a number of friends and family being diagnosed with cancer. One particular person dear to me was my grandfather. My grandfather passed away to cancer whilst I was only young. In the final weeks up until his passing, my grandfather received expert care at a hospice run by MacMillan nurses. So when the opportunity to challenge myself while raising money to fight this awful disease came up, I definitely wanted to be a part of this campaign!
